Medication Assisted Treatment, Opioid Use Disorder

Effective, January 1, 2018, PCPs shall be allowed to treat members with medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder (OUD).

Prior authorization is not required. PCPs must refer the member to a behavioral health provider for the psychological and/or behavioral therapy component of the MAT model and coordinate care with the behavioral health provider. The drug list for the treatment of OUD is provided in the Health plan website.
